PRG have exclusively been appointed by a top energy consultancy assisting in the strategic search of an experienced Senior or Principal Energy Engineer to work within their newly formed Net Zero advisory team.

Dedicated to sustainable development, the firm is a team of designers, consultants, and expert Energy strategists.

The consultancy is looking for a Senior or Principal Energy Engineer who can assist with the design of energy generation and distribution systems through all stages of a project (energy strategy, feasibility through to site completion) and be a key stakeholder who is keen to build a team and lead.

The current work load will see you work on medium and large scale energy systems – including steam, hot water boilers, heat distribution networks, controls, plant rooms thermal and fuel storage and how they intergrade energy generation into building developments.

Your role will include: -

  • Guiding multi-disciplinary teams in Energy Engineering projects, acting as the lead engineer responsible for client, project team and senior stakeholders.
  • Producing high quality, winning proposals to assist in winning work for the team
  • Assisting with design and delivery of on-site electricity generation and distribution systems, including a selection of prime movers and plant sizing etc
  • Commercially evaluating different energy systems
  • Involved and assist with the production of drawings and specifications
  • Surveying and evaluating existing buildings and energy systems

Requirements

  • You will be Chartered Engineer, or working towards Chartership
  • Have experience in the design of energy generation and distribution through all stages of a project from energy strategy to site completion
  • Degree qualified in Energy, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Have a proven understanding of building integrated and utility-scale renewables, building energy performance and efficiency systems, regulatory drivers of energy and carbon efficiency.
  • Be familiar with and capable to undertake the design of energy centres, and distribution systems including hot water, steam and chilled water.
  • Knowledge of heat pumps, ground source, air-source
  • Knowledge of IES and/or TAS energy modelling
